Ouster just released firmware 2.3 for all their lidar sensors. While also fixing bugs from previous versions, the latest firmware brings some new features that enhance the performance as well as the functionality of the sensors.
Here is a list of the improvements introduced in firmware 2.3:
- Low data rate sensor profile
- Helps reduce data volume by up to 70% in comparison to the standard dual return profile
- Single return data profile
- Includes updated packet structure for more configurable options
- Queryable sensor telemetry
- Telemetry like input current/voltage, internal temperature, or timestamp can now be remotely queried, making troubleshooting significantly easier
- New TCP & HTTP API Commands to query configurations and telemetry
- Additional bug fixes
