Powering OS1-16 from 12V in car

Anybody had sucess powering the OS1-16 (or any OS1) from 12V / cigarette lighter socket in car ?

I thought of using a DC/AC converter, but the socket in the car can only provide 10A, which means 300W is already too much, but power supply has 100-240V @1.6A input rating (384W @240V).
In the end the OS1-16 requires 24V @1. 5A input (thus 36W) only, and I though about using a 12V to 24V converter and found this one which could fit: Mean Well SD-50A-24 2.1 A

Anybody can comment if this could work and (even more important) if it is save to use w/o damaging the Lidar (I'd still use the black box to connect power and Ethernet) ?
Best would be to have a definite statement about what's done inside the black box (i.e. does it protect against inverse power / over-current / over-voltage or not).

Hi Bjoern,
you can use the Mean Well SD-50A-24 2.1 A, it is stabilzed and powerful enough, just make sure to keep the right polarity.

Do you know if there is any kind of protection mechanism (like over-current or reverse polarity) inside the black connection box?
Do you by any chance have schematics of the circuit inside the box available which you can share?

Finally I had the chance to try it in my car.
Everything worked as expected, I've carefully checked voltage and polarity before connecting Lidar, and a first recording session went smooth.
As such I can conclude that using Mean Well SD-50A-24 2.1A for 12V -> 24V conversion in order to power OS1-16 is a good choice, just be sure that you avoid any shortcuts (I've used cable lugs plus heat shrink to make sure cables stay in place).
